UH-Hilo continues its final homestand of the season Saturday against Dominican on a four-match losing streak in which it’s been held without a goal. The Vulcans haven’t notched a goal (6-7-1, 3-6-1) since a victory Oct. 7 at Hawaii Pacific, and a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame de Namur on Tuesday at Kamehameha’s Paiea Stadium dropped UH-Hilo below .500 for the first time this season.

The Vulcans put six shots on frame against the Argonauts (8-6-2, 5-4-2), and Bryana-Marie Ebbers had one of UHH’s better chances with a blast late in the match that was steered away by Abigail Cebrero.

Dominican (5-8-2, 3-6-1) had a two match winning streak stopped Wednesday in a 4-1 loss at Hawaii Pacific, though Mariah Meza notched her fourth goal in the past three games.

The UH-Hilo men did get a goal from Omar Machado in the 90th minute of a 2-1 loss Tuesday to league-leading Notre Dame de Namur, before falling to 0-13 and 0-9 in league play.

Dominican (4-8-2, 1-7-2) is one spot ahead of the Vuls in 14th in the PacWest, though the Penguins come in after tying Hawaii Pacific 1-1 on Wednesday, giving them a modest three-match unbeaten streak.

Saturday’s women’s match kicks off at 12:30 p.m. at Paiea, with the men to follow at 3 p.m.
